Time away from work helps you balance work and life, refresh and care for your personal needs.

There are two primary paid-time off programs in place for U.S. salaried, nonunion employees: Paid Time Off (PTO) and Vacation and Sick Leave.

  • With Paid Time Off (PTO), eligible employees accrue time-off hours in a single bank of time, which they can use for vacation or sick leave reasons. As your tenure with Boeing increases, the rate at which you’ll accrue PTO will increase, too.
  • With Vacation and Sick Leave, eligible employees receive separate banks of time off that are dedicated to vacation time or illness time. Boeing employees receive sick leave upon hire, and their sick leave bank is updated annually. As your tenure with Boeing increases, the rate at which you’ll accrue vacation will increase, too.

Boeing provides paid holidays each year. Most employees are eligible for a standard fixed holiday schedule and one floating holiday per calendar year. Generally, the standard 12 holiday schedule includes:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving and the Friday following Thanksgiving
  • Winter Break (six days, Christmas Eve through New Year’s Eve)

If you work at a location that follows a different holiday schedule, your holiday schedule may differ.

Boeing encourages employees to fulfill their civic obligations, including serving on a jury or as a witness. We grant time off with pay in order to appear for jury duty, testify as a witness for the company, respond to a subpoena to appear as a witness in any legal proceeding or appear at arbitration.

Boeing employees may take paid time off for absences related to the death of a family member or other person to whom they are close.

Boeing-sponsored program eligibility may differ for subsidiaries, certain business unit programs and union-represented employees. Terms applicable to union-represented employees are subject to the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
